Affiliate disclosure
Last updated
GeneratorMath participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. When you click an affiliate link on this site and buy something, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you.
How links appear here
- Every affiliate link is labelled “affiliate link” in the surrounding text and carries the
rel="sponsored"attribute. - Links point at search results for the recommended size class (e.g. “4,000 watt portable generator”) or at generic safety and accessory categories (CO detectors, outdoor-rated cords, fuel stabilizer, transfer switches) — never at a specific model we were paid to feature.
- Transfer-switch links are product links only — installation belongs to a licensed electrician, and this site publishes no wiring instructions.
What commissions do not touch
The sizing math — watt figures, surge deltas, headroom, size classes and every honest “this load doesn’t belong on a portable generator” — is computed from the sourced dataset described on the methodology page, before and regardless of any link. We recommend size classes, not brands, precisely so that no commission can bend a recommendation. If a figure looks wrong, tell us:hello@generatormath.com.
